Satsangatve Nissangatvam,
Nissangatve Nirmohatvam
Nirmohatve Nishchalatatvam,
Nishchalatve Jivanmuktih
Translation
From good company comes non-attachment; from non-attachment comes freedom from delusion; from freedom from delusion comes steadiness of mind; from steadiness of mind comes liberation while living.
The teaching
This verse is the only one in Bhaja Govindam that maps a positive path — a step-by-step progression from beginning to liberation. It starts with satsang, good company. The sequence is elegant: right company loosens unhealthy attachments; loosened attachments dissolve delusion; clarity of mind produces steadiness; steadiness is liberation itself.
